i fucking paid $2.699 for gas today. that fucking sucked.

now i received a couple of those e-mails where you they tell you that everyone should just not get gas on a particular day.

if anyone is interested and hasn't heard, the day in question is September 1st.

the thing is, i don't entirely get how that works. i mean, everyone will probably just make sure they have gas the day before if they're really worried, or wait until the day after if they can. or not really care because they won't need gas that day anyway. either way, people will still buy the gas if and when they need it.

so does this really work? i applaud people wanting to do something to protest how ridiculous this is, but something bigger needs to be done.

hybrids are starting to look extremely appealing now that they're making some with 4 wheel drive.

I so want a hybrid. If they come out with a hybrid minivan, I will probably buy it. In the meantime, I only use my car to go to work (about once a week) or get groceries, or if I have someplace to go to that is too far to walk. I am very lucky that I live someplace that I can walk to almost everything. That is how I can justify having a minivan that uses a TON of gas. If we could afford to have two cars, we would have a small hybrid for quick trips around town and a minivan for longer trips with the kids.
