Nora's favorite consonant sound is still "d" so we're always encouraging her to say "m" as well.  She does break it out every once in a while, but not often.  Except yesterday I was taking her upstairs to change her diaper and I asked her who had poopy pants.  She responded with "ma ma ma."  Cheeky little girl.

Anyway.  We're nearing the one year mark and this weekend we're beginning to implement an extremely gradual decrease in what she eats at bedtime, with the ultimate goal of not eating at bedtime at all eventually.  It's not that she needs it for sustenance.  She is definitely getting plenty throughout the day.  But at this point, it's such a big part of our bedtime ritual that I'm not entirely sure how this is going to work.  Kristina, and any other moms who have done this already, how the heck do I do this?

If you're referring to a bed time bottle, my Sister did it differently with her two boys. The first one she started shaving an ounce off every two weeks untill she got to just under 3, and then she cut it out.

The second one was more tricky. She would give him 4oz about 2h before bed. And then if he was fussy she'd give him another 4 right before bed. Eventually they cut the second one out all together. But when I would watch them I'd grumble that trying to time the bottles was stupid. But they weren't my kids- so I had to do what she wanted.

In the end it seemed to be easier with #2 though. He got a "snack" after dinner and was therefor ready to food coma by bedtime more often than not.

I'm not going to be too helpful on this one. Both mine nursed, so no bottles. Neither nursed at bedtime at Nora's age. In fact Jacob stopped nursing at 9 months, so he obviously had to have stopped the bedtime nursing well before that, or he wouldn't have wanted to let go of it.

I don't recall ever needed to get them to stop at bedtime. But they were never "nurse before naptime" babies, either. We usually nursed right after waking, not right before. Sorry. :(
