the second day was just not nearly as exciting as the first. i think everyone went to Allentown today since it wasn't stiflingly hot as usual. very few customers. but john managed to sell nearly $20 more, $16 for me, $30 for mom, and a whopping 50 cents for dad. mike got jealous and decided to put out some sega, N64, and PS1 games, but not much was going. one kid bought a handful of the sega games and that was it. after noon, we put up signs for a bag sale. not too many people came by after that, but one kid was scouring our garage for a long time in awe that i actually let him take all that stuff for just one dollar. we even sold off a couple comics that were not included in the bag sale.

dad took some stuff back, mom took some clothes for the Y's clothes closet, john grabbed some household items for some community center his college is working with, and most of the rest went to the Salvation Army. i did take mom's medieval weaponry that used to hang on the wall across my door and totally freak people out. kevin stopped in on his way to the airport and we tried to convince him that no one would question him taking a spiked mace on an airplane. i don't have a clue what i'm going to do with it, but i can't just let that one go.

all in all, i can't complain much. john made over $100 alone and altogether we all brought in about $240. not too shabby.

the only thing i can complain about is how tired i am. been staying up too late and having to get up too early for several days now and haven't had time to catch up on any of that lost sleep. so i'm getting weird, cranky, and terribly forgetful. we went to get groceries tonight and i forgot to bring in all the tons of change we have to put in the Coinstar machine, and then i completely forgot to give the cashier my coupons when we were checking out. $11 in coupons. i was going to cry. that's how tired i am.

SHE SOLD THE MACE? Good call on keeping it. You absolutely cannot let that thing go.

I have so much sympathy about the lack of sleep. And I might cry for you in regards to the coupons. Just wait until you are pregnant. I was such a spacey person. It's a good thing I am not a brain surgeon, because I would have had to stop working due to idiocy. Even for the first few months after the babies were born, I would come home from grocery shopping and realize I didn't even get half of what we needed.

Congrats on the garage sale. Someday we will do one. Although, around here, if you use the term "garage sale" people look at you like you are crazy. I have learned that the proper phrase is "tag sale". Who knew.

Nothing is wrong with "garage sale" except some parts of the country are full of people who are dumb enough to think you are actually selling a garage. Probably why flea markets are swap meets on the west coast, too.
