Today's lesson on new drugs

so today i've learned about an herb called Salvia. here's the quote from sagewisdom.org:

Salvia divinorum is an extraordinary herb used in shamanism, divination, healing, meditation, and the exploration of consciousness. It should always be used in a thoughtful, intelligent manner, and only by responsible adults that are of sound mind and clear intent.

it's that second line that amuses me. it's illegal in various european countries, but in the US, it's only illegal in Missouri and Louisiana. the DEA is checking it out, but is apparantly not expected to add it to its controlled substances list anytime soon. it's generally smoked, but the aforementioned website has a link to a place where you can get an oral version, which they seemed to be very excited about.

really, the best part is that you can buy salvia on e-bay.

I've heard of that one but I don't remember where. Apparently, my use hasn't been of a thoughtful, intelligent manner :). It sounds like the way LSD was described (or advertised) to people before that was illegal. Interesting. Kids here aren't into the psychedelic stuff from what I've seen of police reports. And that's a shame. If you're going to ingest something to get you sick as a dog, you might as well see pretty colors along with it.

when they were trying to make pot illegal, they tried to insist that it made you violent and crazy, until people used temporary insanity due to marijuana to get off of murder charges. so they stopped with that outlook, but got it outlawed anyway.

i'm not big on smoking anything, personally. but i've been around second hand smoke.
