Boy #1: John

so i was trying to do half a million things yesterday and i sent john to do some extremely brief errands in close proximity to each other (i.e. one plaza contained three out of four errands and the fourth was just a couple blocks away). meanwhile, i took a shower. the phone rings while i'm in the shower. and then again and again and again. i finally got out and answered the fourth in a row. it's john informing me that he dropped the bank deposit envelope with my check from work into the mailbox with the bills. i'm a little irritated, but i'm primarily irritated that he felt he had to call repeatedly and get me out of the shower as if i was going to be able to do anything about it, ESPECIALLY ON A SUNDAY!! needless to say, he went to the post office this morning right when it opened to inform them of the situation and will be going back at open tomorrow to see if they were able to retrieve it all right.

Boy #2: Mike

ah yes, the boy who is like a walking germ when he's sick has taken up residence in my guest room (which, to be fair, is really his room at this point, as he's actually been using it frequently since he discovered that i do, in fact, have the most comfortable bed in the world like i told him) with a raging cold or flu or something. he is not exactly the most hygienic person i know in the first place, but then he starts walking around with a kleenex hanging out of his nose and i cringe when i think of him touching the keyboard on my computer. i hate to be like mom on this one following him around with disinfecting wipes, but i don't exactly have much in the way of sick time yet and john really just doesn't have time to be sick. if it is the flu, john has at least had a flu shot. i can't because of the whole egg based shot allergy thing. so i'd like him to keep those germs under wraps and not spread them around. not interested, thank you very much.

About three weeks ago, I gave my husband a couple of errands to do. One of them was to go to the bank and deposit my paycheck. The other was to return a library book. That night I asked him for the receipt from the bank deposit. He got an awful look on his face and said a couple of not-so-nice words. Apparently, he had put the deposit inside the front cover of the book, and then RETURNED it at the library. Of course, it was a signed check, and I had not written "deposit only" like I normally do, because he always makes fun of me for doing that when he deposits my checks (..."what, you don't trust me"). Ha. I guess not! Luckily, I was able to get the check back the next day.
