we have been in our house just over two years. in that time, a water main has broken somewhere on the street at least three times. at least the first time was in front of our house and we got a new driveway out of it, but the breaks seem to now be moving down the street.
when it happened at our house two years ago, we had a nice chat with the water guy who said this kind of thing happens here all the time because people in amherst like their water pressure. i walked down to see what was up this morning and the guys joked about how they're here a LOT.
when i called my neighbor today, home with her newborn, to keep her apprised of the situation, she pondered whether they would do something about this continuing problem permanently. i sincerely doubt it. yet considering the outrageousness of the taxes i pay to be in this stepford community, i want some action, damn it. but then people would probably complain about them digging and how the water would have to be turned off then. grrr.
well, thank god i don't have any interviews today so i don't have to worry about a shower immediately.
