TV lawyers

so anyone from buffalo knows about Cellino & Barnes. their giant balding heads fill billboards all over the greater WNY area. but recently, Cellino got into some sort of trouble i didn't quite understand, so that he's temporarily not allowed to practice law. so Barnes is plugging on without him. poor Barnes. he looks so lonely on tv, having to extol his virtues all by himself.

then there's Richard Hickey. anyone else find this guy's name really funny?

there's some local lawyer who now has William Shatner in his commercial. don't know the lawyer's name so it's not terribly effective, i guess, but i do love any opportunity to see Shatner.

my all time favorite, though, is Rochester's Jim "The Hammer" Shapiro. i used to love this guy in college. he'd start yelling and screaming and turn bright red as he'd bust out with lines like, "I'll be your SOB in the courtroom!" who wouldn't love that? but i heard that he, too, got into some legal trouble sometime within the past year and is now disbarred in new york. supposedly, he's down in florida with lots of other SOBs.

I loved "The Hammer"
and I was wondering what happened to Cellino

no one will ever be better than "The Hammer." i knew a guy at Geneseo who hired him after getting backstage at a WWF event and getting thrown through a wall by one of the wrestlers, thus injuring his wrist. not sure how far that case got.

i guess cellino's troubles have something to do with unethical placement of some sort of investment. i really couldn't follow it.

well, this guy was a member of the fraternity, the Pigs. geneseo didn't have a football team, but if they did, these guys would be on it.

trust me when i tell you that it was not just a clever name for their group. they were techically the Orange Knights (they were non-greek), but somehow the Pigs stuck better.
