Bear with me folks. I don't have this thing set up yet, but I wanted to respond to Sheila's survey and it told me it was too long. So here it is.
1. Of all the bands/artists in your cd/record collection, which one do you own the most albums by?
i'm currently too lazy to go downstairs to check for sure, but my guess would be possibly tori, but more likely the tragically hip or led zeppelin. if i can count gord downie, the lead singer for the hip, it's totally the hip, by far.
2. What was the last song you listened to (voluntarily)?
the cds in my car are on shuffle so i'd guess something by Butterfly Boucher, the Tea Party, Andy Stochansky, Ben Kweller, or Fleming & John
3. What's on your record player right now?
well, you just got the car list. i have the Sheila Divine in my alarm clock cd player, the Police box set in the one downstairs (soon to be the Cure b-sides box set that just arrived in the mail yesterday), and the Beastie Boys in my radio at work.
4. What song would you say sums you up?
"Cruel" by Tori Amos
5. What's your favorite local band?
i like a lot of Canadian stuff, which is sort of local. Tragically Hip, Tea Party (though not the latest), Lowest of the Low, Sloan
6. What was the last show you attended?
Sarah McLachlan, i believe. i won tickets from New World Record. good show for free, but she disappoints me now in that she's not nearly as fun as she used to be. Butterfly Boucher opened. She was great. oh wait. actually, the last show i saw was the Donnas in North Tonawanda at the canal concert.
7. What was the greatest show you've ever been to?
Tea Party at Shea's - early July of 2000.
8. What's the shittiest band you've ever seen in concert?
i saw Pearl Jam in, i think, '96 or '97. the opening band was so horrible and i wasn't old enough yet to go to the bar. also, the band that played before the Donnas was pretty damn awful.
9. What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
most of them. as much as i love Tori, i think she is a total freak.
10. What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
piano lessons as a kid, the same recorder lessons everyone had in school, played flute from fourth grade through tenth grade (still pick it up once in a blue moon), did the school musicals the first couple of years in high school, was in the concert chorale tenth through senior year, took voice lessons at geneseo my first semester, was in a chorus there sopohomore year, was in a band (Blue in the Face) that played together all the time without actually having many shows, guest vocals with a Better Life Through Chemistry until i caught the drummer cheating on me, and karaoke when i can.
11. What show are you looking forward to?
just found out the Tea Party is coming to town again
12. What is your favorite band shirt?
the Lowest of the Low from a few years ago that says World Tour, but only has three dates.
13. What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
Gord Downie of the Hip
14. What musician would you like to hump for a day?
