i had this interview this morning. it was weird. interviewer was completely non-responsive. i mean, no reaction whatsoever. confused me completely. so i have no idea if it went well or if i bombed or what.
their policy, though, is to absolutely have to speak with a new hire's previous direct supervisor, no exceptions. now i don't even know if i'm going to get this job, but it gave me a nudge to talk to boss about my plans to leave. i was so tense. i figured that i had nothing to lose because i was planning on leaving before summer program started regardless of my job status. and she was in a meeting all afternoon, but i knew i had to catch her because she's going out of town tomorrow for a while.
so i let her know what's going on and it went so surprisingly well that i'm completely freaked out. it makes me wish i had done it sooner so i could have used her as a reference sooner. but with her, timing is everything and i think this was just the right timing. i may actually get out of here unscathed.
and the director i work with was very cool with it, too. he appreciated that i was leaving before summer so as to not totally screw him over during such a crazy time. plus he knows i'm already doing the first interviews for other positions like mine in the agency. boss wants me to help make the transition with a new person and help pick said person, which also makes the clubhouse director very happy.
telling the kids may not be so easy, but i'm not doing that (except with one i told today) until i have a definite date that i'm leaving.
now watch me not get that job. not that i wouldn't mind a little time off this summer. thank god for that great tax return this year. homeownership has its privileges (sp?).
