All right, I'm going public. I dropped off our registration papers to Adoption STAR this morning and we are officially starting the process of domestic infant adoption.

just curious... what is the time frame? It sounded from your previous posts that you are looking at within the year?

We should we profile ready around the end of May-ish, if I had to guess. Then we'll see how long it takes for a birth mom to pick us. We have a lot of things working in our favor - age, education, open to race, etc. - so my hope is that we'll be picked fairly quickly.

We have Plane Day for Mike, which is when we picked him up at JFK Airport. The thing with domestic infant adoption is that Gotcha Day is generally the same as birthday. So maybe finalization day?

I have got to say, that "finalization day" is way too beaurocratic to be a decent holiday. I can't wait for the next "DMV Queue Day". "Family day" or something of that nature would be far better. ;-)

I think I earned several DMV Queue Days when I was working at Smith Boys. Yes, Family Day sounds nicer.
