Nora's been doing some counting.  She does 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.  Don't ask me what happened to 5.  We just can't get her to include it.

Our vacation is coming up soon, but the weather is not looking good for our day to travel down.  I'm finally feeling a little better about our potential for disaster on this trip, and now if we get delayed, I'm going to be very, very bitter.

edit:  I forgot one other thing I was going to mention about Nora.  She's lately taking any one syallable words and adding to it to make it a two syllable word.  For example, cup is cuppie.  Sock is socky.  Book is booky.  And so on and so on.  Blanket has also become blankie.  I have no idea where this comes from.  We've never referred to her blanket as a blankie or anything like that.  But it's cute.

That is so cute! I wonder if someone at daycare does that, and she is imitating it.

I just watched a video clip of Grace counting, when she was 2 1/2. It is hilarious. She could count all the way to ten, and sometimes a bit past, but she moved her head up and down AND her arm up and down, to keep the rhythm of the counting. I had totally forgotten, until I watched it.

I read in a book somewhere that adding -ie to things makes them more memorable to babies. I dunno. i hate baby talk personally and TRY to speak to my daughter as if she were just a regular person, albeit a ridiculously small and cute one. My in-laws, on the other hand, are teaching her that a kitty is a "keekee" and that terrible is pronounced "tewwiwble". I hate it, but need to pick my battles carefully.
