Nora is in an apprehensive phase. She is curious about new things, people, animals, situations, etc., but she's rather be curious about them from a distance. We went to the Great Pumpkin Farm on Sunday and she loved the animals, but she sure did not want to get too close to that big camel and forget about the pony ride. But she did seem to like the pumpkin cannons. That's my girl.
But there is one very amusing thing she does lately. When Julie and Andy were here for Gram's funeral, they went to the Springville Auction and came back with a crate full of records. They picked out the ones they wanted, we picked out a few, and then the crate was going to our basement for next year's garage sale. I still haven't actually taken the ones we wanted out of the crate to be put with our record collection so Frank Sinatra is sitting on top. Whenever Nora comes to the basement with me, usually for laundry purposes, she always waves good-by to Frank before we go upstairs. Cracks me up every time.

We're having some local TV drama. The owners of the CBS and CW affiliates have pulled the channels off of Time Warner because of some financial dispute. TW apparently does not believe we should have to pay extra for channels you can get for free with an antenna. I can't argue with that. Lin, the company they are fighting with, has waged a nasty campaign about how TW won't let you have those channels. TW has been handing out free antennas to anyone who wants them. We already had an antenna and we pulled up our basement TV just for those two channels. We hooked up a VCR to it to tape the shows we watch on them. I don't care about the reception and this is fine, but I really do miss the DVR when we're watching those ones.

I can't stop reading that book that True Blood is based on. Forget my research project, my conference presentation, and my comprehensive exam, I'd rather be reading. Thanks a lot for the decrease in productivity, Sookie Stackhouse.
