I'm finally sitting down to watch the new 90210 and there's one moment that I just need to share. Remember Andrea from the original, who was played by a just-about-30-year-old being a teenager? She eventually had a kid on the show named Hannah. So here's the new show and instead of the newspaper, they have some sort of TV newscast. The lead anchor is of course, Hannah, Andrea and Jesse's daughter, and she does this very professional delivery of the news. Cut to a classroom watching this and the teacher there makes a joke to the effect of: "So is that girl, like, 30 or what?" I know. Stupid, but this totally cracked me up.

Date: 2008-09-05 01:14 am (UTC)From:I liked this well enough for a pilot. I like to give shows a few episodes to get into their stride, but I can already safely say that I'll be sticking with this one. I enjoy the throwbacks to the old series. I even remember that episode where they pranked the other school by leaving pigs on the field or whatever. And I'm dying to know who the father of Kelly's kid is, as they of course want me to be. But I enjoyed it as much as one can enjoy a cheesy teen drama. I still think the O.C. was the best because it had a great sense of humor, but this is fine, and I'll be curious to see what they do with the adoption stuff.
