I rented a couple of straight to DVD vampire movies recently that caught my attention.

First, I watched "Bram Stoker's Dracula's Guest."  Apparently it's based on a Bram Stoker short story.  I think I may have to read it.  One, because I'm a Stoker fan, and two, because I have no idea what was going on in this movie.  This may actually be the most poorly made movie I have ever seen in my entire life.  Just everything about it was awful.  The sound was bad, the editing, the writing, and I can't begin to describe how awful the acting was.  The guy playing Bram Stoker was the only one who had a little potential if he were given a chance with a better production.  The rest of them were outrageously bad.  And the casting of Dracula was just plain ridiculous.  I think this guy might have been a failed WWF wrestler.  Dracula's power does not come from being a big dude.  See Gary Oldman as Dracula, please, for a little guidance.

Second, I felt it was probably foolish of me, but I rented the "Lost Boys" sequel that just came out, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.  It wasn't great, by any means, but it wasn't bad either.  It had Taylor from the O.C. in it, but most importantly, it had Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog.  He clearly had the best lines of the movie.  It didn't take itself very seriously and as long as no one else does, it's actually a bit enjoyable, with some very hilarious moments.  I would probably put this on the high end of awesomely bad.

Third, I didn't watch it, but John did watch "The Scorpion King 2" and he said it wasn't bad.  To the point that if he saw it for sale cheap, he'd probably pick it up.  Again, I didn't see it so I can't back it up, and you must keep in mind that John is partial to bad sci-fi, but figured I'd throw that review in, too, while I was at it.
