I'm enjoying the last few moments of leisure time before summer classes start up tomorro.  My mission is to load up this summer so I can have a lighter next year.  So two classes in the first session and one in the second.  This first session is going to be a doozy.  They're work heavy courses and I'll be doing them in a mere month.  So John is taking some time off to help me out.  But a month of pain is worth it in the end.  In the fall, I'll only have a research class and an internship.  Then only one class and my comps in the spring.  Therefore, I can actually take some time to find a job I'll actually be happy with, all while doing my contract work for the adoption agency, which I intend to keep no matter what I'm doing because it is both enjoyable and lucrative for the amount of actual work involved.

The short-term moral of this story is that I need to disappear for the next month while school really does take over every last bit of my life that is not already absorbed by Nora.  So if I'm a little neglectful of my internet socialization, along with the little bit of real life socialization I've gotten back post-baby, that's why.

We went to a party today at Nora's godfather's place.  Adam had picked up a couple of blow-up punching bags at the dollar store for the various kids to play with.  Nora was rather enamored with the Spider Man one.  She'd walk up to it and hug it, and then start swaying, like she was dancing with Spider Man.  Funniest thing ever.  Adam insisted we take it with us, so now she can dance with Spider Man whenever she wants.

Okay, I know I've posted a lot today, but Nora keeps being amusing.

We've been trying not to expose her to a lot of TV.  It's on in the mornings when I watch the Today Show for a bit and occasionally she's exposed to the Daily Show or Colbert if I watch it in the morning.  Other than that, she only sees a few things here or there, but we try to keep it to a minimum.  She really pays little to no attention to it at all.  She goes about her business of playing.  I only noticed her really paying attention once recently because there was a commercial on with a dog, and when that was done, she went back to playing.

Today while I was making dinner, John suggested we throw in my Muppet Show Season 1 DVD.  We'd been outside all day so I agreed.  Nora was already sitting on the couch with John enjoying sitting on the couch with her daddy.  The Muppet Show started and John pointed it out to her.  From that point on, she was hooked.  She was just totally enthralled with the Muppets.  And of course, given her love of dogs, was overjoyed with Rowlf the dog.  She saw maybe about 15-20 minutes before we turned it off for dinner, and she just sat and watched it the whole time.

I'm a little fearful of the attention she paid the tube, but at least she has good taste in shows.
