The assistant director at Nora's daycare just had a baby girl yesterday. She was induced, had three hours of labor, and only had to push once. How is that fair?
Tell me about it. My friend Brenda had 24 hours of hard labour, pushed for hours, and ended up having a c-section at the end. That, amigo, is the opposite of fair.
I hope there's some sort of karmic level somewhere along the line. Not that I wish anything bad on this person, but something really awesome for your friend to make up for it.
Well, I'm sure you recall it differently, but your labor was kind of on the quick side, was it not? I get a call you're at the hospital and I think I have hours to wait to hear an announcement and I get another call in about 30 minutes.
Well, we didn't call Mom immediately, but yes, it only took 10 hours from start to finish, which is pretty short in the grand scheme of things. However, I had almost 2 1/2 hours of pushing, which is a long time for pushing. I would gladly have had a longer labor, hanging out with my epidural, if I could just have had one push.
as a woman 2 weeks post partum from an emergancy c-section after about 10 hours of labor (2 hours were hard labor)I am feeling rather snarky. and only one word came to mind. BITCH! but there is a good possibility that it's a mixture of hormones and jelousy speaking there. otherwise I hope mom and baby are doing well.
It simply isn't.
