John's aunt and uncle have an ice cream shop near Rochester.  They make all their own stuff.  It's yummy.  I'm a big fan of their tangerine ice.  

Anyway.  We drove up there yesterday to see them and they gave Nora the cutest little Nora-sized ice cream cone with some soft serve chocolate.  Interestingly enough, she knew exactly what to do with it.  The tip went right in her mouth and then she even started licking it.  It was a total mess, but she enjoyed herself.

Her hair is a bit fountain-esque in this picture, I must admit. I think that had been the 4 millionth time that I had to do it that day since she always takes it out, but it's otherwise in her face, all the way down past her nose.

You forgot to mention that she spent most of the rest of her time there swinging the ropes hanging from the stanchions and playing peekaboo with my aunt. The toddler logic behind the 'I can't see you so you mustn't be able to see me' was quite funny.

The face didn't actually get too much worse than that, but as it dripped down, her hand got pretty goopy. She didn't really want too much of it as she'd just had a big lunch at Denny's so most of it wound up in a bowl.

Sam and I looked at this entry this morning and he was fascinated. My mother-in-law had already informed me that she'd bought ice cream for today, so I told Sam he'd be getting his own later.

Which he did. He also apparently got his First Ice Cream Headache judging by the screaming after he swallowed a particularly large bite!

Yeah, whenever I've spooned it out for her, I try to keep it small so she doesn't get the headache. When she was feeding herself, she seemed to do okay, but I was concerned about that.
