Nora does this thing where she raises her arms over her head with a big smile, like she just completed some gold medal winning gymnastics routine or something. I started doing it with her and asking her is she's a superstar. So now when I ask her randomly who's the superstar, she raises her arms up, smiles real big, and looks at me to do it, too. Sometimes she initiates it still. The really great thing about it is that I swear she's trying to say "superstar" sometimes. What kind of dork am I that my daughter's first word is superstar?
Luckily for Nora, she will not be a dork this summer. Her godfather brought her a birthday present that included a black Misfits onesie. Excited that I would have a punk rock baby, I inquired as to where he got it, because I know he's not an internet shopper. Turns out they carry this stuff at Hot Topic AND they've got a bunch on clearance. We went to one nearby and it turns out we chose the wrong mall since it all got shipped to the other really close one, so we hopped over there and I got 4 t-shirts for about $15. One Johnny Cash, one with skulls and hearts, one that just says "Unsigned Artist," and a blue one with a rocket that says "Science is Awesome." Okay, that last one does make her a dork. After all, I also have a shirt waiting for her that says "I love formula" and then has the pythagorean theorem on it. Apparently they had a Zeppelin one at one point, by the way, but they were gone. D'oh!
One other adorable thing she does is that she likes it when we rest our foreheads against each other. You know, like, when you're really close to someone and it looks like they either three eyes or one giant eye. She gets a kick out of that.
