There's still only one tooth in there with no signs of any others showing up. My mother swears that in all babies, the second tooth follows within a week of the first, but then she felt Nora's gums today and had to concede that there just isn't one coming yet, over two weeks later. I think she looks pretty funny with just the one tooth.
Nora has had another burst of growth in the things she does. She's finally figured out how to clap her hands. She works her crib aquarium music box thingy and insists on playing it before she goes to bed at night until after I leave, and will play it when she wakes up, often before she makes any other noise. You just hear this music eerily emanating from the monitor.
For a while now, she's been playing peek-a-boo with us using the long curtains in the family room, I just always forgot to write about it.
She's been standing more and more on her own and working on standing from sitting rather than pulling herself up on something. And since that's been going well, we tried out letting her walk with her little shopping cart, which worked famously. She tools around all over the family room with it all by herself. Except for the part where we have to turn her around. She hasn't figured that one out yet.
And we finally found a sippy cup that seems to work for her. The Nuby was okay, but we tried the Born Free, which is a little pricier because it's made without the chemical that everyone is now worried about in plastic bottles and cups. The spout just seems to work for her. I guess it's an easier valve to suck on. So now that we know it works, I need to go order some more.
In general, she has just been super mischievious lately, getting into anything and everything. And she learns so fast, which is great, but also can be aggravating, because we need to learn just as quickly how to stop her from getting into some stuff that we just hadn't thought about before. It seems we're not as smart as she is, apparently.
