I'd like to just add that it kind of sucks to be a baby sometimes. Sure, you're waited on hand and foot and have no responsibilities beyond being cute (which is a very serious responsibility, you know). But it must totally suck when you're sick.
Nora has had a cough for a few weeks now. The doctor told us last week that it's just the lingering effect of a virus she had right before she got the cough, much like my own that I'm currently dealing with. But see, I get to take Robitussin and Halls, etc. Nora does not get to do that. She does not get to take cold medicine of any kind when she has a runny nose or sore throat. And with this stomach thing she now has, she does not get to take Pepto or anything else like that.
Furthermore, she can't tell me when something is wrong. So when I gave her some formula this morning, I was not able to know ahead of time that her stomach was feeling funny so that I might give her something else that wouldn't make her throw up all over the dog's head. And even though the nurse at the doctor's office that I spoke with tonight reassured me that if she's throwing up, she's probably not all that hungry anyway and water will suffice to keep her hydrated, I'd like to ask her if she's hungry and just not wanting the bland stuff I'm offering or what. And I just have to go on trial or error to determine when she's feeling better.
So I know I like to tease that it's sooooooooooooooooo hard to be a baby and all, but sometimes it really and truly is.
