I love overalls on kids. I think it's just the cutest. I bought up tons of overalls at garage sales this summer. However, I'm not buying anymore because they are actually kind of a pain to get on and off. After a couple of diaper blowouts or major spitups, overalls are just not so cute anymore. I don't bother sending them in to daycare with her because I don't need to make it any harder for the workers.
Also out for daycare and for me anymore are white items. Honestly, who thinks it's a good idea to put messy babies in white clothes? So with the exception of the standard plain white onesies and Nora's Elvis t-shirt (because you did know, Julie, that I was going to open that early), white is no longer an option.
I think I should buy stock in whatever company produces Shout.
On another topic, this whole Nora pulling herself up business is just working my nerves now that it's moving into the crib arena. I had read somewhere that when these developmental tasks happen, babies will not sleep as well. It's like they're just compelled to constantly stand up. And then they stand up in the crib and don't know how to get back down. It's just so bizarre. And also slightly annoying.
John is thinking we should start putting pillows on the floor around the crib. It's on the lowest level, but he was a bit of a crib climber so he's concerned that Nora will be, too. Also, someone he knows at work has a 9 month old who climbs out already. There's something to look forward to.
And in other Nora news, she is officially moving up to Baby Ducks 2 at daycare. The room is basically split into two halves with the older, more mobile babies on one side and the younger ones on the other. The babies closest to her in age all moved up around Labor Day, but there wasn't room for her. She's still been spending most of her time over there anyway and it's more been a matter of where her stuff is stored. The ratios still hold true because they're all in the same room. In any case, as of Monday, she's a true member of Baby Ducks 2.
