Turns out that Nora is rather fond of Aunt (and pronounce it "ant," please) Julie, despite her bout of stranger anxiety.  They had a lovely afternoon Thursday hanging out on the floor.  Then we all went to Mom's for pizza and Nora was even lovely there.

However, Friday morning we went to wake her up to discover a giant diaper blowout and what appeared to be puke all over the crib.  Awesome.  Cue impromptu bath and laundry.  She seemed okay in the morning.  She even pigged out more than usual at breakfast, presumably because she had an empty stomach.  But then it was all downhill from there.  She was unbelievably crabby all afternoon, barely ate anything, and hardly took any nap at all.

I honestly can't tell if it's because her stomach was still bothering her or if it's the teeth kicking in.  I kinda think it's the teeth because she wouldn't have been so good in the morning had it been her stomach still, and she's been chewing whatever she could get in her mouth.  In any case, I was desperate for John to get home quick Friday as I was totally stressed out.  And glad it was Friday because I'd have John to help out on the weekend.

Or would I?  So John got sick this morning and has been lying in bed with a puke bucket ever since.  And Nora has been just as cranky today, and still not eating much, and still napping poorly.  Two exceptions to this were when I bundled her up and walked down to get the mail and then again when we jetted over to Mom's to get Julie her Christmas present that arrived in today's mail before she heads back to South Carolina.  Nora took a short nap in the car on the way home and happily ate her puffs when we got back while I had dinner so there was that respite, too.

This was a pretty bad weekend for John to get sick, too.  We have a ton of stuff to get done before we head up to Vermont, a trip I'm not particularly looking forward to, but also don't want to put off should there still be sickness amongst us.  Seriously, if I catch this bug, I'm going to be super pissed.  Blah.

ugh. I hope John is feeling better quick. AND I hope that you don't get sick en route to Vermont (or while you are in VT).

Good luck. :)

I just thought of something with regards to the Nora/Poppa problem. Well two ideas really.

I don't know how often you guys see your Parents but you guys might want to try to get her together with them once a week or every two weeks. Does your Dad smile and or laugh at all around her? Sometimes babies react the way they do to someone based on their moods. So if Pops looks grumpy she will be more inclined to return the grump.

Another idea would be to have him play with a toy fo hers that has lights noises etc. Hoooooopefully she'll hear the noises and giggles and come to see what the name of sam hell he's doing. Although I warn, this may backfire. She might FREAKOUT and want her toy back. She might want to know why you let the devil man touch it.

But hey, couldn't hurt right?

Oh man that sucks! I hope its just a 24 hour thing and not like the real flu. My friend had it last year and it sounded miserable! I would talk to the in-laws about it before heading out there, I'm not sure with Grandmom and Grandad there they'll want you to come. Hopefully you're all feeling better by then though.

But won't being sick give you an excellent excuse not to go anywhere for Thanksgiving?
