We had our trip to the Lockport Caves yesterday. Nice day for it. We had a good time, though we thought it was going to be a bit more like Howe's Caverns out near Utica. This is actually a man made tunnel that some factories built and used, but they are now technically caves because they have stalactites. Or is it stalacmites? Whichever one that hangs from the ceiling. I always forget which is which. In any case, here's my favorite fun fact from the tour: The fire hydrant was invented and originally manufactured in Lockport and in an interesting twist of irony, the fire hydrant factory burnt down.
In any case, this has been a good five years. I married a saint. He stood by me and all my initial baggage, letting me sort it out in my time. He actually suggested we let Mike stay here and help him out with the car when he quit school and then put up with him for a year when we thought it would only last a couple months. He was wicked helpful and supportive during the pregnancy. And he's an awesome daddy. All of it has just made us closer when other relationships might suffer from similar stuff. I'm not the mushy emotional type and even this little description is way out of character for me, but just thought I'd share that with everyone. Maybe it will make up for all the nagging I do about how he needs to vaccuum.
