Nora is rolling in all directions now, though not always successfully or exactly when she wants to.  I always put her down on a blanket, but I'm starting to wonder why since she always rolls and/or scoots right off of it.  Despite my best efforts, she always comes up covered in dog hair.  I hate when a piece gets stuck to her face with drool.  It's so hard to brush off.

And try finding time to vaccuum around here.  It's John's job for many reasons, not the least of which is that I loathe the task, but black dog + white carpets (I'd like to kill the previous owners who installed them) = impossible to keep up with.  Further, Nora no longer sleeps through the vaccuum and when she's awake, she's usually requiring attention.  John did get some done with her in the Bjorn, but it wasn't easy and forget trying to vaccuum the stairs that way.  But I digress.  As usual.

This need to have everything in her mouth at all times is making Nora kind of a pain in the butt lately.  When she gets sick of rolling around on the floor, I don't have too many other options for her because the jumperoo and her exersaucer make her so angry with all their attached toys that she can't chew on.  She can handle them for only about five minutes, maybe ten tops.  She has found a new love for the bouncer since I've removed the toy bar.  I saw a bunch of really boring exersaucers at garage sales without toys on them and I often wondered why I'd want to buy one of those when there are such fun ones out there.  Now I wish I had one.  I should ask them if she has this problem at daycare with their saucer.  She always seems to be happy in theirs when I see her in it.

She is all right with the high chair now.  We were previously feeding her in the bouncer, but she'd get all giggly and bouncy and the next thing you know, she'd have oatmeal up her nose.  Not cool.  So she had her first meal in the high chair at lunch today and it worked out fine.

I'm scrapping the rice cereal, by the way.  She likes the oatmeal so much better and she totally digs the barley.  Perhaps she'll be a future beer lover like her mom.

Your last two posts have just described some of the frustrations that I have with being a dog owner with children. I loved having a dog before kids, and I do still love him, but it definitely adds things to life that I didn't expect. My biggest frustration has always been that whenever I can manage to wake up before the kids, he gets up also, shakes, and paces around me, thus waking the kids up anyway. But, he's old and I love him, so I just grit my teeth and deal. grrrrr!!!!
