My parents have some wedding in Ohio to go to this weekend so we have their dogs, Doc and Willie. We've had Doc here with us numerous times, but this is the first time since they've acquired Willie. I didn't think it would be that bad, though. We're used to Doc and Willie seems pretty laid back.
So they come in with their matching camo bandanas and immediately Doc steps on Nora who happens to be rolling around on the floor. She merely seemed stunned. She shortly gets cranky, though, since it's getting to be close to nap time. I pick her up and she promptly spits up over my shoulder so that it lands on the kitchen floor. I'm attempting to get paper towels to clean it up and Beezley decides to help out by licking it up before I can stop him. Gross. In the midst of that chaos, I hear something that I hope is not what I think it is. I look over just in time to see Willie finish peeing on the carpet in the family room.
Seriously, he peed on my carpet. Doc has actually peed in our living room on a past visit with us, but that was more due to his neurosese/old age. Willie has never peed on the floor at my parents' house so I'm all of a sudden wondering what in the world it is about this house that all animals feel they need to pee on my damn carpets.
Anyway. My hands were full at the moment so I point out the indiscretion to my dad who didn't catch on right away, but then he took Willie outside. I put Nora in her piano exersaucer thingy, which I know is just going to piss her off at this stage of tiredness so I can spray the offending spot with Resolve.
Dad eventually gets going and the dogs do their pacing thing that they do because heaven forbid all three of them sit down at once. I take Nora up to change her and get her ready for her nap. Doc and Willie follow me briefly, but are bored with the happenings and head back downstairs. As soon as Nora is asleep, I head down to try to finish cleaning the spot and find Willie on the couch, a habit they are having a hard time breaking him of. Whatever. As long as he doesn't pee on it.
Ha ha, and he just tried jumping up on my other couch, but he got off as soon as I called his name.
This is going to be a long weekend, I suspect.
