Somehow we got out the door before I had hoped we would and had no problems finding the company's headquarters.  Everyone was very nice and kept asking if we'd been to the photo studio before.  I got the distinct impression, by the way, that we were the only newbies in the room.  This leads me to believe that perhaps we could get called in again.  That would be fun.

They asked me her size and I said she's between sizes, but mostly 3-6 (she was in her first 6-9 outfit today).  I think they thought I meant between 0-3 and 3-6 so they brought out a 0-3 since they like to keep them in smaller stuff so there's no wrinkles from loose clothing.  I pointed out the misunderstanding and they brought me out this size 3-6 white sleeper with little flowers all over it - not something I'd pick out, but I think someone bought us one similar to it.  And it confirmed for me that I have a big pile of size 3-6 sleepers in a drawer that she will never get to use because this was snug in length, but it achieved the result they were looking for.

So after she was dressed and I signed a bunch of stuff, they took me back to a fake girly bedroom with a girly crib that had a girly fairy mobile.  Nora loves mobiles, but she hates when they don't move, and since they were trying to get a perfect shot, the mobile was not moving.  So the photographer's assistant shook this bell thingy over the mobile so Nora would look up and be her cute self.  She likes to kick her feet up a lot lately so they had to keep putting them down for her and had to get her hand out of her mouth a few times, but they got some shots they were very pleased with and said they really liked them.

We aren't really ever told if they use her picture or not.  One of the people there told me they send all the shots to New York and they don't trace what child's picture they use so we have to just keep an eye out for the Fairy Mobile in about two months.  She suggested we check the catalog, the website, and even the packaging in stores like Babies R Us, Target, and/or Wal-Mart since it could potentially be an item available only at one of those stores.  Also, they did the picture from a bit of a distance to get the whole bedroom scene in, so it might be difficult to tell if she's the one they use, depending on how big the picture is, especially since the baby after her was wearing the exact same sleeper.  Oh, and they will be photoshopping a mommy into the picture.  How great is that?  In any case, everyone keep an eye out for the Fairy Mobile about Octoberish.

But the important part is that we got a gift card to the store.  We were done by 9:30 and the store wasn't open until 10 so I drove Nora around for half an hour and she got a little nap, making her pleasant in the store while I picked out a corner bathtub toy caddy and this giraffe thingy she can use in the future that lets you put balls in at its head that roll down and has handles that will someday help her pull herself up to standing (obviously a ways off).
