The head office of Fisher Price is in East Aurora, maybe about a half an hour or so from my home. They tend to find local kids to do some free modeling for their toy packaging so they invite people to send in candid shots of their kids to their photo department. Being the dork that I am, I picked out some pictures of her playing in Fisher Price products, because it doesn't hurt to suck up a little, and got votes from a couple people on which one to send. I wound up sending two of them. This was just last week.
I just got a call from Fisher Price letting me know that they would be interested in having Miss Eleanor come down for a photo shoot sometime and they noted that Mondays and Wednesdays are generally not the best days for us and will be giving us a call in the future to have her come down.
Is that funny or what? I figured I'd never hear from them so when Fisher Price came up on the caller I.D., I had a good laugh before answering. I don't know how this works. I don't know if they just call in a bunch of kids and take a bunch of pictures and use whatever works. With kids this small, it's hard to predict what kind of mood they'll be in, and Nora is definitely no exception to that one. I probably won't be able to pick the time so it could fall right when she'd be needing a nap or who knows what other thing that will piss her off. Maybe she'll spit up or poop all over whatever it is she's supposed to be playing with. This will be so entertaining.
I also don't think they get much more than the glory of being on a box for a toy, but I'd love getting some free stuff out of it. That would rock.
