So my mom is coming over tomorrow afternoon to babysit while we go to see a movie and then get groceries on the way home.  Here's the problem.  This is such a golden opportunity that doesn't happen very often and we can't decide what movie to go see.  Here's our choices: The Bourne Ultimatum, Stardust, Superbad, and the Simpsons Movie.  We're keeping ourselves to the Regal on Transit and that actually pretty much eliminates the Simpsons Movie because one show is too early and the other is too late.  We both want to see Bourne, though John probably more than me.  I like the franchise a lot, but that last one had camerawork that made me motion sick and I heard Matt Damon say in an interview that this one is the same way.  Stardust has the Neil Gaiman factor, as well as Robert DeNiro as a gay cross-dressing pirate, so that sounds pretty good.  But I also have this really strong urge to go see Superbad.  I was hoping the reviews would make me want to see it less, but they just made me want to see it more.  I can't help myself!

In the pre-baby world, we'd have seen everything already and I wouldn't have this problem.  I'm so unbelievably undecided and I'm ready to pull my hair out.

I vote for Superbad! Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary and Dan's mom is taking Zack for the evening so we are going to get dinner and then maybe see Superbad - that kid from Arrested Development is so funny!

Wait a minute, if you have "grandma" coming over to babysit..then I suggest you take FULL advantage of it! I'd get the shopping out of the way first, then head out to the movies. Bourne is an OK story line, however I've never been able to get over Matt Damon's prick character he played in "School Ties" so many years ago, it seemed to be somewhat of a typecast to me.

I'd suggest a nice lunch b4 the movie, not anything too filling but just enough to dissuade you from spending a small fortune at the concession stands. Then I'd take in the LATE showing of the Simpsons, which could be taken as a very good episode, but in movie form they can get away with a lot more retarded bits. I took my youngest to see it and she loved it! (however at 13 she still thinks dad's belching the alphabet is a scream..)

"Most" Grandma's are bread for this sort of thing, particularly your mother...so don't feel any guilt here, just enjoy the time you both have alone!

Unfourtunatly it's true, those opportunities wont come along often enough!

so...

What did you go see? Haven't seen any of them that you've mentioned, but I'm supposed to see Superbad tomorrow sometime. I was the same way, waiting for the reviews to crucify it so I'd wait for DVD. Not happening :-)
