The daycare workers think Nora may be dealing with some teething.  Not that she's got them pushing through just yet, but that they are pushing up into her gums.  They still probably won't push through for a while, but in the meanwhile, it can bug her a bit.  It does fit some recent behavior of hers and Lord knows they have way more experience with babies than I could ever hope to have.  I guess I never gave any thought to teeth bothering her before they even pushed through so I'm not totally prepared for this.  We do have a couple of teething items, but I want to get one of those cool teething rings that freeze and also vibrate when chewed on.

In other Nora news, we're contemplating how long we want to keep using the infant car seat.  The height limit says it's 29 inches and we've measured her at somewhere around 24, but with her extra long torso, I don't think it's going to make it to 29 inches for her.  We already moved the shoulder straps to the highest setting some time ago and it seems that they will not be able to accomodate her for too much longer.  We know which convertible car seat we want to get, but we put off getting them because it's a chunk of change to smack down all at once for two of them.  However, I got a Babies R Us coupon in the mail yesterday for car seats so I think it's a sign that we need to at least purchase them soon.  She really does grow out of things overnight and we need to be prepared.

The other thing about the infant car seat is that she hates it.  She has always hated it, but would tolerate it once she was moving in the stroller or car, and even then only begrudgingly.  She generally screams when being put in it.  I stopped using it in the stroller because she can't see anything when she's rear facing like that and it's completely unnecessary with her current head control anyway.

The only downside to not using it is that it is always convenient to clip it into the carts at the grocery store.  She can't sit in the grocery cart on her own yet, but if she's not sleeping, which she doesn't do for long once you stop driving the car, she will raise holy hell that she's still in that thing.  When we got groceries Saturday, we wound up taking turns carrying her once she woke up and got pissed off.  I think we need to make sure we have the Snugli or baby wrap with us on these adventures, and we'll have to do that once she totally grows out of the seat regardless.

..they also make snazzy seat covers for carts. They're padded and such. I think Wegmans was even selling them st one point.
