I just got a call from EduKids saying they have room for Nora if we want to start right away, which we agreed we would do in order to secure our spot for August. John pointed out that I could probably use the extra time for my sanity anyway. I'm going to be needing it for my contract work before August, also, so we will be swinging by there this afternoon to pick up the paperwork.
We had a successful garage sale agenda Saturday by finding two exersaucers, one for ten bucks and one for four. The more expensive one was pristine and even had the instructions manual and the original box. The cheaper one is missing a few toys, but they had tied a couple extra ones onto it that they included and we're keeping that one at my mom's so she won't be using it all that much anyway. We moved them to the lower settings and she just fit. She frigging loves it! It is hysterical to watch it and she'll stay in there a while bouncing those legs, but when she's done, she is done and she lets you know it.
We're also attempting to switch her bottles. We've been using the Dr. Brown's, but they only go up to 8 oz and Nora has been eating 9-10 quite a bit lately. She'd top off the bottle and then I'd have to go run and make two more ounces, which is a huge pain in the ass, and is also not realistic in a daycare situation. So we checked around and most other bottles come in 9 oz, but the Avent ones come in 11 oz bottles. Here's the problem. Each kind of bottle has it's own kind of nipple and that's what I'm more reluctant to switch on her. We picked up a pack of the Avent ones and she had her first one this morning. She was all distracted and whatnot while eating, but she does that sometimes anyway, turning her head to look around while I attempt to keep the nipple in her mouth. She drinks the whole time, but just wants to look around. It takes her a lot longer to eat when she does that and it's kind of aggravating, but she did eat 8 1/2 oz so it's not like she wasn't getting enough out of it. We'll have to try it some more and see if she's really okay with it. I want to have her comfortable with it before this whole daycare thing gets going or come up with a different solution if she's not.
