I am an idiot.  Apparently I forgot to put in a new tampon this morning so later in the day when I went to remove it, I freaked out because I couldn't find the string.  On further, um, investigation, it dawned on me that I perhaps forgot to actually put it in.  I yelled to John to run upstairs to that bathroom that I knew I had been in earlier and see if there was one sitting on the cabinet that's next to the toilet.  There was, which means I took one out and just didn't use it and it was light enough today that I didn't seem to notice.  Yes, I am an idiot.

What's worse it finding the string and thinking "when did I....?"

I remember someone telling me once that she had forgotten to take the first one out before putting in a second so she was very surprised later on to find two strings.

I've done the same thing! I bit scary, isn't it? Of course, it can't really get "lost", but still...

And I really thought for sure that I absolutely remembered putting one in so I was just mystified until I reassured myself that I hadn't. I had visions of going to the urgent care place down the road so they could fish it out...
