Okay.  So EduKids, where we want to go, is the one that told me they'd probably be able to take us after Labor Day.  The location is fantastic for us.  My neighbors go there.  Now I know Kristy's son goes there and it would be fun to have them together since they're only about a month apart.  It's very reputable.  My neighbor's daughter has learned so much there at her age so I'm impressed.

I called a bunch of places today and am doing some tours.  One of them, Childtime, has said that they are adding another infant room so they should be able to get us in within a month or so.  I really did want to get her started in August when my semester starts so this would work for me.  The location isn't bad, but not as good as EduKids.  I haven't been there yet to check it out, but I did really like the director when I spoke with her on the phone.  I go there for a tour on Tuesday.

Here's my dilemma.  Do I trust that EduKids will, in fact, take us after Labor Day and not go with this Childtime place (assuming I like it, of course)?  Because once the school year starts and my mom goes back to work, I'm totally screwed if I don't have daycare.  Or do I go with the one that comes up first to make sure I have something?  Yes, I suppose there's an option three of going with Childtime and then moving her to EduKids once that opens up, but I'm not entirely comfortable with that.  I don't know.  I need help.

I worked in Childcare for almost a decade. Wait for EduKids. If you really want the reasons why I say to wait, email me.

I talked to them this morning and I think if you go there now and tell them you can start anytime they'll get you in. Their numbers are low right now because of the summer - today there were only 3 of them in "Baby Ducks 1". If you can afford it, start Nora there in July to get her used to it. I don't think you'll regret it. I'm sure you can think of things to do with yourself on Mondays and Wednesdays until you start school! Also, Mondays and Wednesdays are currently their heavy days in that age group so I would try getting in ASAP.

If you don't mind... how much is daycare for two days a week? I am curious how it differs from here. I may possibly be working 24 hours a week next winter for 4-6 months. The main day nurse in the house I work at will most likely be going to Iraq and they are looking for ways to keep a nurse there so the family doesn't go with a different agency. I figure I should start looking into my options (limited as they are) pretty soon.
