We had our little mini shower with John's office yesterday. The ladies all chipped in and got us the Pack 'n' Play, which was very exciting. They were sneaky, too, and didn't take it off the registry or else we'd have seen it coming.
So now that all the showers are done, we took stock of things we needed and went on a massive shopping binge last night. It's nice that we now have more than one sheet for the crib as I'm quite sure we'll be needing them.
I also went a little nutty at Kohl's buying a few more clothing items. My favorite is the red onesie with a chicken dressed as a pirate hunting for a treasure chest.
Of course, I have to wash all this stuff and we have to put things together, but I'm feeling much more ready for this baby now.
We did put off a few items that we know we won't need until the baby gets to be a little older, such as the convertible car seats we plan to use once the infant car seat gets to be too small and baby gates for the stairs. Maybe I'll be working by the time we need those. Or at least can put it all on a different credit card statement. This one's gonna be a doozy.
Meanwhile, I visited a pediatrician practice today and I'm pretty well sold on them. One more important detail out of the way.

Date: 2007-03-14 01:08 pm (UTC)From:I love our pediatrician, and hospital/other pedicatrician politics are making him so unhappy that he is leaving. I am SO sad. I would have still driven 20 minutes to see him after we moved! I picture the kids growing up with him as their doctor and him remembered them as babies. Oh, I am so sad. I hope that you end up loving your pediatrician that much.
