Let me get away from the insurance drama for a moment.
Apparently 34 weeks is past the danger zone. In other words, if I went into labor this early, the baby would very much likely be a-ok. Of course we want the critter to stay in there at least another 3-4 weeks. Personally, I'm shooting for at least 5. I've got stuff to do still in March, right up until the last day of the month, so I'd prefer labor hold off until sometime in April. But most things don't work out the way I plan them so I won't hold my breath.
I'm still stuck monitoring my glucose a few days a week, but on those days that I do, I got the okay to bump it down to just twice a day instead of four times. That's cool. My fingers are relieved.
As stated in my previous rantings today, they'd like to have me go back to see the perinatalogist for some follow-up, including a sonogram. And if the insurance issue doesn't work itself out then they'll still send me for just a sonogram at about 37 or 38 weeks. Granted, at this point, what's a few more weeks of not knowing the gender, but it would still be fun.
My little nasal cleansing pot does not seem to be as effective as it was the first few nights I was using it. We've pretty much resigned ourselves to John sleeping in the other room because I'm apparently really that loud that I'm keeping him up. I do feel very bad about that.
And let's discuss the feet. They swell up so easily in the most absurd fashion. It's just the tops of my feet that swell, and I guess it spreads a little to my ankles, giving me that gorgeous cankle look, but it's really weird how I can feel it now. It's the most unpleasant sensation. I can't do it justice so I'm not even going to try to explain it, but it totally sucks. And it can happen in mere minutes of me having my feet on the floor, nor does putting them up ever seem to get them down to normal anymore, just less swollen.
Speaking of which, I should go put them up for a long while so I can make it through grocery shopping tonight.

Date: 2007-03-01 11:04 pm (UTC)From:Here's what I've discovered in my experience with earplugs. They work to block out outside noises, much like the fan I sleep with, but when someone is snoring right next to your head, it only slightly dampens the noise and gives you that weird plugged feeling. Not effective enough to be worth it most times.
It's not that bad. The bed in there is super comfortable and he owes me for the numerous times I've had to escape his snoring. ;)
At least we know this will resolve itself and then we'll be sleepless together with the baby.
