Here's the dilemma with my roof. We have cathedral ceilings in our family room and where the corners of the roof come together between the rooms is a very weird angle. Thus, it's extremely easy for moisture from snow and ice to get stuck in there and come through.
When we had it fixed before, it was really bad. Water came through and bubbled up the wall. The roofer replaced some bad spots that had previously just been patched over and over and over and he put in an extra vent to try to help the problem. But he strongly suggested that we get those thingys you put on your roof that warm up and keep the snow off of it and also to be diligent about roof raking, neither of which we did. Well, sometimes the roof rake, but not as diligently as we should.
Even the best roofer in the world couldn't entirely fix this issue. The spot hasn't gotten any worse and I can live with that for now. I just really didn't want my wall paint to get messed up since it's fairly new and I love it. We are so investing in those roof warmer things for next year, though.
