I hate to admit it now that there's all this hubub about it, but I actually thought that Snickers Super Bowl commercial was funny.  A little odd that ripping off your shirt and pulling out your chest hair was considered a manly thing to do, but that's why it made me laugh, because it was stupid.

It's not so much the original commercial, as the now-deleted extra endings that were up on the website, that sent people up in flames. People were supposed to vote on them and the new commercial would be played at the Daytona 500 - which is a cool idea, except the new endings or whatever involved them smashing each other in the face with wrenches or drinking anti-freeze to erase the stain of the "homo moment."

It was all just a little too "Matthew Shepard" to be funny.

And then Mars issued a non-apology saying "well, we'll take it all down, but it tested well so I don't know what you're talking about," like that means anything. I could probably put together a focus group that thinks a 30-second spot of any number of heinous or insensitive acts are funny, missing the point that racist/sexist/homophobic acts aren't "edgy," they're just over-the-edge.

It didn't do much for me. One of those "eh" commercials. They were trying too hard for the frat boy humor which really isn't funny.

Not exactly a commercial, but I liked Dave & Oprah. They were a cute couple.
