Remember how I loved the second trimester? I'm now starting to get to that point where I'm sick of being pregnant. Though I suppose there's a lot that's making me super cranky this week.
Of course, there's the glucose thing. I've totally gotten the hang of this finger pricking business, but I still hate it. And this diet sucks. It's working, but it sucks. I actually have to count out how many crackers, etc. I'm eating, and it's not very many. While I keep reminding myself that it's only for the duration of this pregnancy, I do have in the back of my mind that it could come up again in future pregnancies and I could also be at risk for developing Type II diabetes in the far off future, as well. I really, really don't want to live my whole life like this.
And to make it more fun, I have a cold. I woke up with it on Tuesday and wasn't entirely sure it was a cold at first because of the normal pregnancy nasal congestion anyway, but it's definitely a cold. Tuesday night I barely slept and thus, John barely slept. Last night we got smart. He slept in the baby's room and I took some benadryl, which helped, but would have been better tag teamed with some sudafed. No such luck on that one, of course. Oh, and did I mention fruit juices are out with this diet? There's nothing I love more when I have a cold then having a very large glass of orange juice. I thought they made sugar free vitamin C drops, but apparently I was thinking of sugar free cough drops, which isn't what I need. Thankfully, John realized he had quite a few packets of Crystal Light, which is a "free food" on my diet and has the extra vitamin C I'm dying for. That's one positive thing anyway.
While I'm bitching, I did notice that I've gotten some stretch marks on my belly and some very little ones on my hips. Not sure how long they've been there because they're below my belly button and I can't see anything beyond that point, sadly. I happened to spot them in the mirror sometime last week.
I'm increasingly mobility impaired and it's getting harder to even just put my socks on. My bladder currently holds about two teaspoons of liquid and even that gets squeezed out if the critter is sitting there. Mostly it's just kicking me in the ribs all day.
So okay. I'm not in a great mood today and pregnancy is not on my top ten list of fun things to go through right now.
