One of the girls I used to work with is now 18 and works at the establishment. She had a very horrific homelife and we all sort of became her family and we're still in touch periodically. She's been bugging me to stop by so I was nearby yesterday and popped in.
A lot of the kids that I worked with are still there so they were all running up and asking me questions and the baby and whatnot. One girl immediately ran up and started rubbing my belly. Any other kid would have annoyed me, but I know this girl very well and know it's just her way. She was nine or ten when I was working there and she'd sit down next to you and start playing with your hair or whatever. She's just like that. Were I still working there, I'd probably have taken the time to explain that it could be a real personal space issue for some people, but it was neither the time nor place for that.
The thing that totally cracked me up was the one boy who pointed out that my face got rounder or chubbier or something to that effect, and that, actually, I got bigger in general. I had a good laugh and explained that for most people, when you're pregnant and you expand, you expand everywhere.
