I officially have an outie. Just a little bit of one, but it's cute.
Had a midwife appointment that I was outrageously late for since there was an accident of some sort on the 290 during rush hour and put traffic at a total standstill. I'm not even exaggerating. There was absolutely no movement for several minutes so I managed to get over and get off the last exit, taking a not much faster Main St. all the way there. John was already there, though, having taken a different highway from work and filled them in. They turned out not to be busy with evening appointments last night, thankfully.
Peeing in a cup may have been challenging before, but there is now the added challenge of not being able to see past my belly to see if I'm actually getting anything in the cup.
She didn't seem overly concerned about the glucose test results and was really using the diet as a suggestion. I think this was also because I only gained 2 1/2 pounds in the past three weeks. Believe me, no one is more surprised than me on that one and I was ready to run a victory lap around the office after I got off the scale. Now that would have been a sight to see.
However, she did say they're going to draw some blood when I'm back in two weeks to run a glycohemoglobin test. I have to do a little more internet research on this, but what I have gathered is that it somehow measures the average percentage of sugar in my blood over the previous 6-12 weeks. I find this to be an amazing thing for a test to do, but it's also intimidating me to be on my very best behavior foodwise for the next two weeks until we go back.
Despite the prospect of yet another freaking blood draw, I was still in a good mood and then there was a kick ass Sabres game on last night, but then...
Well, I need to do another entry and lock it up as it's not entirely my business to whine about to the general public.
