Doing a little online research. It's highly unusual to come up with normal results for the first three draws and then come up high on the last one. I couldn't find any examples, patterns, or explanations for such a result. Not a single one. The fourth draw is not as important as the first three and sometimes they don't always order the fourth one anyway. Just my luck, right? In any case, it takes two or more abnormal results to be considered as having gestational diabetes.
I could only come up with one possibility at all for why the last one was high, but I suppose it's really grasping at straws. Emotional stress can elevate the levels falsely. On that last draw attempt, she didn't get it right and it was outrageously painful and I, foolishly, told her to keep trying so she did for longer than she probably should have before switching to a different vein. And I mean, it f-ing hurt. So perhaps that could have raised my levels. I don't know. Just trying to rationalize a very weird result.
