I noticed that my engagement ring was all gunked up with lotion and whatnot so I was going to throw it in my vat of cleaning stuff from the jeweler. However, it doesn't want to come off. I used to take my rings off all the time when I was cleaning out the turtle tank, but now that I wear gloves to ward off any salmonella, I haven't bothered to take them off in a good couple of months. Good thing, I guess, as they are now permanently on. I was able to get it off after trying to while my hands were under hot water, but it wasn't easy. My fingers don't look at all any pudgier than they were before, but apparently I'm retaining that much water or something that now my fingers are fatter.
On the job front, yesterday was my last day at work. I didn't have a whole lot to do for most of the day. Got taken out to a great lunch where I broke the rules and ate something with feta cheese on it. So sue me.
I was starting to get concerned about when the new job was going to be happening. Future supervisor isn't great at returning phone calls and she was also having a hard time getting hold of people for reference checks because of that nasty storm we had. But four people told me this week that they hadn't touched base with her yet. I did finally get hold of her myself yesterday and she told me that since she was having a hard time connecting with everyone, if they left positive messages about me on her voicemail, she pretty much counted that. She's been doing the work of several different people so she is trying very hard to get me to start on Monday. Still waiting to hear from their head office on whether or not my fingerprints have come back yet. My fingers are so small that prints smudge very easily for me. Hmm, maybe now that my fingers are fatter, it would work better if I had to do them over again.
