I almost forgot to post this.

This week the baby is the size of a large onion.

My belly button is shrinking and I suppose I should start getting on taking some belly pictures. I really wanted to be one of those people who only got bigger in the belly, and maybe the boobs, too, but I took in a back view of myself and I am getting a bit wider. Bummer.

I'm working on it. The problem is that I only seem to think of it when it would not be a good time to do it. I'll have to have John remind me.

No, we need a better veggie choice. I don't like calling it "The Onion". Plus - it was already a grapefruit - isn't that larger than an onion? I sense a conspiracy in the fruit and vegetable lobbyists.

I'm not thrilled with onion either. I also don't think these foods really apply to my baby correctly. Most things I read put the baby at about 4 1/2 ounces this week, but the ultrasound tech said we were probably at 6 ounces, which she and the midwife both stated is normal for this stage. I'm guessing the high end of normal, though.

As I'm running out of food options in a couple weeks anyway, I need to come up with a more permanent thing to call it. Any ideas?

I've been trying to come up with something. Of course, my not being the pregnant one gives me a whole different set of opinions. Like - I can't call it "The Baby" because it's not born yet so that just doesn't seem to fit. Although, I would assume to you it is "The Baby" already because you are carrying it around.

We could go the paparrazzi route and call it "The Bump".

Or of course there is always "The Parasite". No? I didn't think so.

We're working on some ideas, generally geek related. I'll make a decision once I no longer get foods every week in my e-mail.

By the way, we did find a really, really, really large onion at Wegmans the other day that was definitely bigger than a grapefruit. I didn't know they came that big.
