Did some shopping this weekend. Absolutely had to get to Motherhood to get some proper bras. They carry the nursing variety and theirs are much more comfortable than the ones that Target carries, plus Target doesn't seem to carry any that are lined for some bizarre reason. No thank you. So hopefully I won't be so much huger after having this baby so I can still use these.
Also needed to get a few more packs of maternity underwear. I had been thinking of getting a couple more packs the day the storm hit, and then the storm hit and I hadn't done laundry in over a week. I ran out and that was no good.
So then it was on to Moms and Tots, a consignment shop in Tonawanda. I was hoping to get more maternity shirts as I don't have a very great selection of stuff that fits me right now. I found two shirts, but there wasn't a ton of maternity stuff. However, she's got a great selection of kids stuff and I predict I'll be shopping there a lot more for a while. I got two cute fuzzy newborn sleepers, one blue and one this gorgeous red (a color I don't see all too often in baby stuff for some annoying reason). I also checked out her dollar rack in the back and got two more Summery outfits. I may not get to use them, but then you never know with the weather in Buffalo. We could get an April heatwave and then I could use them. If not, there will be future children and even then, they were only a buck a piece for full outfits. I also had to pick up a used copy of "What to Expect in the First Year" and a box set of wrist rattles and feet finders. I always buy those kinds of toys for other people and I swear I've purchased that very set for my friend Frank when his daughter was born. I love them.
Today we stopped by Lowe's to pick up paint chips. Don't know exactly what we're doing with the room except I want to do something involving the ocean. We won't go all out with borders or anything since we'd like to move in a couple years, but we figure paint and fun things to hang on the wall should be okay. We are also attempting to figure out a way to keep the bed in there that we have. Not sure we can pull it off, but we're racking our brains to make it happen.

Date: 2006-10-23 01:13 am (UTC)From:No one has ever told me one way or the other if the wrist rattles and/or feet finders were popular with the babies. One friend I bought them for had them on the baby when he brought her over once, but for all I know, that was just for my benefit as the gift giver. I think she liked them. I'm willing to take that chance, though, because they amuse me. ;)
