we just went to Media Play to buy some storage units for our obscenely expanding cd and dvd collections. while cashing out, i noticed they had signs up to pre-order the new Star Wars on dvd. i asked the guy who was helping us load the car when it was coming out, which started a whole conversation about Star Wars.

he asked if we'd seen the new one and how we liked it, and then he proceeded to express his opinion that it was the best of all six. we politely disagreed that while it was indeed good, it was not as good as the originals.

so the guy responds by saying something about how people our age tend to feel that way. and then he said something about how we probably saw the originals in the theater. i pointed out that we would only have been about one-year-old when the first one came out. he tried to save himself at that point, but still kept referring to people of our age or our generation or something like that.

i'm thinking this guy was about 20-22 years old so we had a good laugh over it afterwards, but shit. now i feel ancient.

it's kinda like how those little plug'n'play Atari games they sell say something on the back about being a "blast from your parents' past." so wrong.
