so i've been reading up on anne rice. her biography. and it's been real interesting to see what was in her life and her thoughts when she wrote the things that she wrote. although they need an update from the past decade since that biography was written.
but there's a point here. they were discussing the Tale of the Body Thief. it's a body switching story. now think of all the body switching movies you've ever seen. Freaky Friday (both versions), Vice Versa, etc. and there have been written stories for centuries, some of which are referenced in anne rice's book on the subject.
this is what i was thinking last night when i couldn't fall asleep. okay. so their souls or spirits or essences or whatever switch bodies. but their brains stay put. so how is it that they always retain all of their knowledge when they switch? and don't have the knowledge of the body they move into?
