so i called BVS to explain that i would like to have more time. he was rather reluctant and wanted me to tell him just what it was i was thinking about. i didn't give him much info, but told him i'd get him an answer monday. within a half an hour, his supervisor called and left me a message pretty much offering himself to answer any questions i might have and encouraged me to let him know my concerns, because they really need to know my answer quickly.
well, i was already starting to lean against that position. the guy who would be my supervisor there was the counselor for my current HR administrator's son about ten years ago and she had to tell him her son's diagnosis. now hopefully he's improved in ten years, but that does make me nervous. i'm looking for clinical supervision that will help me grow.
but his supervisor calling me and being kinda weird was probably the nail in that coffin. and i don't think i'll wait until monday. i'll probably call and tell them no tomorrow.
HR also mentioned to me today that they also got a reference call from CATS. they do the standard "can't really tell you anything other than when they worked here" bit. so there was a message when i got home from the lady at CATS explaining that this was the case as was not unusual, and could i possibly fax her a copy of a recent evaluation.
here's the problem with that. the only evaluation i've ever had there was my three month evaluation, well over a year ago. due to the unprofessionalism of the joint, i can't even provide that. so i might try to explain that jackie can speak on my social work skills and that if she wants a current employee, chris will gladly speak to them, but i'm not sure that's what they really want.
hey, at least it might buy me some time while i check out this school social work job. one can hope.
