mmm. love adelphia right now. we'll see how long that lasts.
anyhoo. i have five new hermit crabs. so joining Eugene Crabs, Crabby Patty, Crab Newburgh, Blue Crab, and King Crab are some pretty interesting characters. first, i had to buy the one in the Incredible Hulk shell. i named him Hulk, but he quickly switched out of that shell within a few hours of having other options. i also had to get the one with the Batman shell (i didn't actually get the one in the Spiderman shell - neither he nor Batman were all that active, but my Batman geek husband insisted). i named him Bruce. then there was one in a pretty orange flowered shell. to go with Bruce, i named her Selina (as in Selina Kyle who is Catwoman, not Selena the Mexican singer). she has switched shells approximately four bazillion times so far. there is an active one in a pretty blue shell with a whale painted on it. that one is Zoidberg II.
but my favorite may just be the one in the tie-dyed hippie shell that i named Buzzo. Buzzo in Geneseo is a dirty old pervert who looks like Jerry Garcia and has a music shop. Buzzo the hermit crab is also disturbingly aggressive. he's been wreaking havoc and freaking me out by climbing in odd places since he got put in my paper bag at the pet store. he climbed all over the rest of the crabs while we picked out cookware in JCPenney. then he climbed out of the shoebox i had them all in while i set up their new aquarium. and when i tried to get him off the edge of the shoebox, he hung on with a kung fu grip. i think i'll just try to keep my fingers out of those claws.
i realize this may not be terribly interesting to most other people, but i am having so much fun with them. here we are with our new high-speed internet and digital cable that cost us umpteen dollars, and i'm just entertained by $20 of new hermit crabs.
