The baby that is to be my friend's and not ours is going to be born tomorrow. I'm okay with that. Frankly, the timing would have been really bad for us. Not to say we wouldn't still drop everything and go get a baby tomorrow, but it would be a pretty complicated week at work without me, especially tomorrow.
I'm okay with it not happening this summer like I'd hoped. It made for a really great summer with Nora, that wouldn't have been so easy with a newborn in tow.
I'm okay if it doesn't happen this semester, either, because it will be a busy semester and I'm committed to teaching a couple sections of our intro to college course, even if I'm out on leave for my actual job. They're only one credit each and I've got it set up with my mom if we do get a placement during the semester so I can still teach those, but it would be okay if it didn't happen right away.
That being said, we are looking into ways to get our profile out there more. We've talked to some lawyers about adding the private route. There's also an agency in Florida that my friend above worked with for her first placement that sounds wonderful that we would consider adding. So whatever.
See, I'm zen now. Wait until we get profiled again. Then I'll be back to being in a tizzy. This lull has at least mellowed me out for now.
