i never used to show anyone any poetry i wrote, but as time passes and i'm distanced from the events that inspired them, i don't mind showing the old ones that i still like. here's two from when i was 17. neither really has a title.
I. from July 1993
soft,
silkiness
of your arms around
and surrounding
me with warmth
oh, the love
i feel in you
emanating from
arms i could easily fall a-
"sleep"
i heard distinctly
and instantly obeyed
how could i not
within such a comforting circle
locking in the peace
and serenity
of my slumber
II. part of something from November 1993
i love
the gentle touch of your fingers
tugging at my soul
brushing your lips across
my open wounds
healing them with the
salt of your tears

Date: 2005-01-04 03:14 am (UTC)From:i was inspired to post the first in response to that conversation we had about arms. the second is from the same relationship and i really just love it and wanted to put it up.
i may make a series out of this. i have some very old favorites that i wouldn't mind sharing with the general public. you're probably the only one i'd tell who or what they were about, though.
