Not only is Nora still sleeping on the floor, she's now starting to request that I tuck her in there rather than having me tuck her into bed and then getting out after I leave.  I've been feeling bad about how cramped her quarters are down there with her legs always getting stuck under the dresser, so we cleared out a little more space for her.  I put a folded up comforter under her nap mat so she'd have more blanket to lie down on, too.  The whole thing is all just so weird.

Today was picture day at day care.  We got the proofs and now we need to decide which ones to pick.  I think it's cute that they do picture day.

Next week is her two year doctor's appointment, whereupon we will discuss the floor sleeping, the potential cinnamon allergy, and how cracked her thumb gets when she's teething and sucks on it 24/7.

Then the week after that is Nora's birthday.  We're keeping it low key again this year.  Maybe I'll attempt a small friend party next year, but we'll see.

And then we start trying to talk up airplanes for our impending trip to Florida.  I have no idea how this is going to go.  I'm trying to put together the best case scenarios, but it's been a planning nightmare.  Trying to find an affordable hotel that's not super sketchy and not too far away from the site of Kevin's wedding was impossible so I wound up finding a better deal on kayak.com for the hotel where the wedding is than they were actually giving us if we booked as wedding guests.  It's still a bit pricey, but we chalk it up to paying for some extra convenience with Nora, and we'll be right on the beach.  But then I also had to get a car service from the first airport to the hotel, with a car seat, and then a rental car from somewhere close to the hotel to Gram's, with a car seat, and then another car service from Gram's to that airport, with a car seat.  We can use Gram's car while we're staying with her, but we were starting to believe that we'd have to bring a car seat, after all, since she wasn't finding one of her friends who had one available since all their families were also coming that weekend.  But finally, she found two, actually, so at least that's one less annoyance.  I will be double checking on all these car seats ahead of time, believe me.

Can't you just bring Nora's own car seat along? it could count as a piece of her luggage, and then you'd have a sure thing when it is time to "strap in for safety" with every vehicle you went in.

I just risked it and checked Zoe's seat when we had to fly... I suppose a two-year-olds carseat is a much larger and bulkier contraption, though. Does it just buckle into a seatbelt, or is there actual major installation taking place? If it just buckles in, it might be easier than trying to rent several cars/taxis in a row that need a carseat, plus, how much do you trust a carseat you haven't installed yourself?

I seem to remember your thumb being disgusting when you were sucking it all the time, but you survived. What dates are you going to be in Florida again? Still trying to find a way to sneak a peek at Nora...
